Juventus Women begin their 2026/27 Serie A Women campaign with a victory. In Biella, the Bianconere beat Napoli Women 3-1 thanks to goals from Redondo, Godo and Chiba.
NAPOLI STRIKE FIRST, REDONDO RESPONDS
Juventus look dangerous from the opening minutes. In the seventh minute, Redondo heads wide from a corner taken by Schatzer, before Schatzer herself tries her luck from distance three minutes later, with Beretta making the save. Noordman is next to threaten in the 12th minute, but her left-footed effort goes wide.
Napoli, however, take the lead in the 16th minute: Kozak turns the ball into the box and Mece, who has just joined Napoli from Juventus, reacts quickest to tap home and make it 0-1.
The Bianconere respond immediately and draw level in the 21st minute: Redondo receives the ball inside the box and fires a right-footed effort into the bottom-left corner beyond Beretta to make it 1-1.
Juventus continue to push forward. Sarriegi tries her luck from distance in the 28th minute, while Godo forces Beretta to turn her long-range effort behind for a corner ten minutes later. Sarriegi and Redondo both have further attempts towards the end of the half, before Napoli go close in the 45th minute: Banusic gets to the ball ahead of the onrushing De Jong with a toe-poked effort, but sends it just wide. The teams head into the break level at 1-1.
GODO COMPLETES THE COMEBACK, CHIBA WRAPS IT UP
The second half begins with a huge chance for Juventus: in the 48th minute, Carbonell shoots from the middle of the box and strikes the crossbar. Two minutes later, Mece threatens at the other end with an effort from the edge of the area that is deflected behind for a corner.
The Bianconere complete the comeback in the 55th minute. Sarriegi finds Godo, who fires a right-footed effort into the bottom-left corner beyond Beretta to make it 2-1.
Juventus continue to search for another goal. In the 63rd minute, Sarriegi tests Beretta with a header straight at the goalkeeper, before later firing a left-footed effort wide after being picked out by Pinto. Redondo tries her luck from distance in the 74th minute without finding the target, while five minutes later Sarriegi races through on goal after being played in by Redondo, only for Beretta to turn her effort behind for a corner.
In the 90th minute, Juventus find the goal that puts the result beyond doubt: Chiba shoots right-footed from a tight angle and finds the bottom-left corner to seal a 3-1 victory.
Juventus Women thus claim their first three points of the 2026/27 Serie A Women season.

“It is very important to start with a good win. There are only 22 matches, so every game is very important. We are a strong team and, for us, only the three points against Napoli mattered. I am very happy with the win: we played a good game today. There are some areas where we can improve, especially because we gave the ball away too often in the second half.
“When you play every three or four days, it is difficult, and the only way to recover energy is by keeping possession. We need to be smarter in understanding when to attack and when, instead, to manage the ball.”

“Credit to the players because they showed great character. I also want to congratulate Napoli, who came here to play and attack, and that is always positive for the spectacle. As for us, it was not easy considering the number of minutes we have played and the limited recovery time available.
“We went 1-0 down in our league opener after playing a midweek match and with another game coming up on Wednesday, but the team did not panic. They continued to believe in our ideas and kept playing, which is something we are very pleased about. In the second half we became a little stretched and allowed them a bit more space centrally, suffering on a few transitions, but then we managed to regain control of the match.
“We created several very clear chances, and scoring two or three goals before the closing stages would certainly have given us a little more peace of mind. Bartel suffered an injury at a time when she was playing very well and missed four or five matches. Her contribution is very important: she is a player I know well from our time at Barcelona and she is showing all of her quality.
“As for Sarriegi, we knew what she could give us: she is capable of playing as a number eight, a centre-forward or out wide. Her movement helps us a lot and gives us depth against teams that press us very high up the pitch. She has settled in very well from day one, also thanks to a group that welcomes new players brilliantly. We are very happy with both of them and with the whole team.
“I have only positive things to say about Mece, in every respect. She is a player who will become a great footballer and we tried not to be selfish: keeping her here would have helped us, and we showed how much faith we have in her by giving her minutes in the Women’s Cup final and in the Champions League qualifiers. She is a different type of player, capable of taking on opponents and attacking space, and behind the footballer there is a wonderful person who is cheerful and always positive. I am sorry not to see her every day, but I hope to see her again in the future. I am sure that with Alessandro Spugna and Napoli she will develop a lot and become an even more complete player.”
