History

On 8 September 2011, with a spectacular inauguration ceremony and the cutting of the ribbon by President Andrea Agnelli, Juventus presented its new stadium to the world. This was the moment in which all the efforts produced for over a decade materialised. In the late 90s and early 2000s, the idea of equipping the club with a modern and functional system took shape. It was an idea exclusively dedicated to football and to those who experience this sport in all its many aspects: by the fans, who thanks to the new structure will experience the thrill of being practically on the field; to families who will have a peaceful and safe environment with dedicated services for the little ones; and those who want to combine the pleasure of the game with business opportunities. The stages that marked the construction of the new stadium are manifold: in 2003 Juventus signed the deed of surface transfer with the Municipality of Turin, which ended with an addendum in May 2009. In these years the project developed, and it began to take shape in July 2009, when, after the site was handed over to the group of companies in charge, work began. They concluded two years later in July 2011. During the summer, the tests were carried out and on 3 September of the same year, the structure gained accessibility. Five days later, Juventus and its fans discovered their new home.

The capacity

The structure was designed to initially have 41 147 seats, of which 3 600 Premium seats were implemented over the years. In summer of 2013, two other Premium sectors were created, the “Legends Club”, with a capacity of 328 seats and three years later, further work took place in the T100 and Tribuna Nord areas, which brought the total capacity to 41 507 seats. In any sector, the view of the field is perfect: no barrier divides the fans from the pitch, whose minimum distance from the stands is just 7.5 meters.

The lighting system

The Allianz Stadium was created to offer the public an exciting and engaging experience. In this perspective, the lighting system plays a decisive role. In the summer of 2016, Juventus replaced the light fittings with LED technology devices. This choice lead the Allianz Stadium to obtain the “Elite A” status (the highest in UEFA standards) for the lighting of the playing field, but above all, the possibility of performing light shows. This is thanks to the perfect synchronization of all the technological devices present in the system, with lights dedicated to the stands and with 192 RGB LED bars positioned under the roof. To complete and make the audience experience even more immersive, in the summer of 2018, Juventus decided to implement the scenographic lighting system, with the installation of 48 RGB rotating head projectors, which allow for the creation of mobile lighting effects and the projection of logos on the field and on the stands. All lights are connected to a single supervision system, located in the control room which allows for the creation of dynamic scenarios coordinated with the audio system. The latter, during the 2019-20 season, was replaced in order to enhance its musical performance and improve listening, as well as from the stands and also from the field. The current LED system dedicated to the pitch consists of 396 projectors, each of 1400 watts, arranged in the perimeter of the roof at a height varying between 32 and 38 meters from the playing field. To complete the spectacular effect, LED technology has also replaced the lighting of the stands, made up of 116 lighting fixtures. There are also 192 RGB lighting fixtures under the cover.

The entertainment

The shows and fun at the Allianz Stadium begins well before the game. In the stands, emotional videos, music and DJ sets accompany the fans right up until kick-off, while in the areas outside the basin, the opportunities for entertainment are many: from Football Billiards, to Dart Football... To get ready for the game, you can have a make-up artist put on face paint, treat yourself to a special tattoo, or even get your hair coloured in black and white by real hairdressers. For the little ones, welcomed by the Juventus champions in mascot version, two Baby Parks are available in the East Tribune and in the Premium Club, where they can have fun and participate in activities under the supervision of qualified educators. And then, there is the Jay House, in the east ring, where you can meet Jay and participate and design the banners to be shown in the stands.

THE EVENTS

The stadium was designed to be experienced not only for football matches, but 365 days a year, with an innovative and exclusive tailor-made event service to help develop your business. At the Allianz Stadium it is possible to organise meetings, business lunches, reunions, conventions, business dinners and many other events in an exceptional setting. With spaces, that thanks to customisable environments, such as the lighting system of each room are easily adaptable to every type of need and user. The size of the rooms and the variety of available layouts allow up to 800 people to be accommodated and entertained.

Security

Prefiltration & filtering: handhelds & metal detector gates

From the 2019/20 season, all stewards assigned to checking tickets are equipped with electronic reading devices. By reading the barcode of the match ticket or season ticket, the PDA displays the owner's data, facilitating verification with the identity document, as required by law. There are also 46 metal detectors gates around the ground, which speed up waiting times and make security checks less invasive.

CCTV system

From the 2014/15 season, the modernisation process of the CCTV system begun. After the first installation, in the summer of 2014 of four Panomera Multifocal cam-eras for the permanent and high-definition filming of the stands of the South Tribune and Away section. In 2016, a new management platform came into use, which inte-grates the use of analog cameras and Panomera cameras. Over the past three sea-sons the system has been further implemented and now has a total of 115 cameras, including 23 Multifocal, 70 Dome / Ptz (of which eight are digital) and 22 fixed (of which 20 are digital).

Sustainability

Sustainability has been one of the pillars of the project from the beginning: the entire architectural plan was in fact developed using measures that ensured a low impact of the construction site on the city, starting with the dismantling of the previous struc-ture: the Stadio delle Alpi. A zero-kilometre operation, which made it possible to re-use the materials of the old stadium in the new construction site or within other con-struction sites located nearby, thus avoiding waste and limiting the problems of dis-posal of 40,000 cubic metres of concrete, 5,000 tons of steel, 2,000 square meters of glass and 300 tons of aluminum. Starting from the 2019/20 season, all the electricity used by Juventus comes from re-newable sources. The LED technology devices guarantee high performance in terms of energy saving, luminous efficiency, durability and sustainability. In September 2019, the Allianz Stadium became the first in Italy to obtain ISO 14001 / UNI EN ISO 14001: 2015 certification. The certification entails "The running and management of the Stadium for football matches and commercial and corporate events in relation to sports, merchandising and entertainment activities, including catering services, also carried out through third party companies."

The area redevelopment

The stadium is the beating heart of a much larger urban area, which Juventus' commitment over the years has completely redeveloped. In 2012, the Juventus Museum was inaugurated, shortly afterwards the adjacent shopping center, therefore, in the following years, J|Medical, the Megastore, and the new club headquarters were created in the former Cascina Continassa, along with the Juventus Training Center (which hosts the First Team) the WINS international school (which also houses the J|College for the youth players), and the J|Hotel. 200,000 square meters, once completely abandoned, have come back to life thanks to the Allianz Stadium, the true beating heart of the whole area.

ISO: 20121

In 2022 the Allianz Stadium obtained the ISO: 20121 certification, that allows to manage every event located in the stadium and to control its social, economic and environmental impact.
