Juventus Women return to action after the international break, with a home Serie A Women clash against Como 1907 scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday 18 October 2026. Coach Isaac Guerrero previewed the match against the Lombardy side, which will be played on Matchday 3 of the league season.
HOW THE TEAM IS DOING AFTER THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK
“I found the players in excellent shape after the break. We closely followed their commitments with their respective national teams and we're really pleased, especially for those who were competing to progress to the next round or reach a final. They managed to make it to the final stage of qualification for the World Cup, which is a major objective for us as a team: we want all our players to perform at the highest level with their national sides too. We're obviously happy for everyone, but I'd particularly like to highlight Rosucci and Redondo's return to their national teams, Schatzer starting a match and Sylla's call-up to the French Under-23 squad. The work they've done here at Juventus has helped them earn these opportunities again and, more generally, gain more playing time.
“All of this is very pleasing and forms part of our development. We also used this break to work with a little more peace of mind and take stock of where we are as a group. We've achieved some extraordinary things in this opening part of the season: securing qualification for the Champions League and winning the first trophy on offer. Now, though, we need to look ahead, because our last match taught us some valuable lessons that we'll certainly put to good use.”
A TALENTED SQUAD, WORKING TO DEVELOP THE RIGHT KILLER INSTINCT
“Our task and our priority remain to create chances while trying to give our opponents as little as possible, and the players are doing that. Sometimes things go your way and every shot inside the box turns into a goal; other times they don't, or it's a combination of the two. It's not something that particularly concerns us. We're constantly working to maintain the right killer instinct and attacking threat in front of goal, but we have a very talented squad and I'm certain we'll continue to reap the rewards of our work, just as we have on other occasions.”
THE CHALLENGE AGAINST COMO 1907 AND THE APPROACH TO THE MATCH
“We're aware that development and performances never follow a straight line. There are moments when we're able to perform at an extremely high level – as we did in the UEFA Women's Champions League match in Gothenburg or in the final we won against Roma – and other matches where we find it a little harder to maintain that same intensity. This is something every team goes through, but it's clear that an ambitious side like ours, which wants to control matches and impose its style of play, needs a little more time to find consistency.
“Tomorrow we face a very important test against an excellent team, a top-level side with outstanding individual players and a very direct style of play. It will be the ideal opportunity to rediscover certain qualities and raise the bar even further. The players know how to compete at the highest level and I'm very confident that this match will give us an important boost as we move forward with our season.”
