The Men's First Team are back in UEFA Europa League action, this time taking on French side Rennes on Matchday 3 of the League Phase.
The Bianconeri have performed well in the Europa League so far, beating NEC 5-0 and Celta Vigo 2-1. Luciano Spalletti's side will now hope to add another three points to their tally.
Rennes have also made a positive start, drawing 0-0 with Sturm Graz before beating OFI 2-1 on Matchday 2. Ahead of Thursday night's action, let's take a look at the last time Juventus beat Rennes.
THE JOURNEY TO THE FINAL
Juventus have only faced Rennes twice in competitive action, and they were the two legs of their UEFA Intertoto Cup final in August 1999.
Juventus entered the tournament in the Third Round, and successfully navigated a two-legged tie against Romanian side Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț, with Alessio Tacchinardi's away goal proving crucial in the 1-1 aggregate draw.
In the semi-finals, Juventus faced Russian side Rostelmash, who would later come to be known as FC Rostov. The Bianconeri were dominant, winning the first leg 4-0 and the second leg 5-1. In the 9-1 aggregate win, Pippo Inzaghi scored five goals.

A TWO-LEGGED BATTLE WITH RENNES
In this tournament, six teams got into the finals, with the three winners earning passage to the UEFA Cup for the upcoming season. Juventus' final pitted them against Rennes, with the first leg being played at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi in Cesena.
Inzaghi was once again the star, as he opened the scoring with a commanding header at the near post. The second goal in the 2-0 victory included great play from Zinedine Zidane and Alessandro Del Piero, before Inzaghi applied the finishing touch from close range.
The result meant that Juventus travelled to France with control of the tie. Rennes got back into it, though, as they opened the scoring in the second leg with El Hadji Ousseynou Diouf scoring. Not long afterwards, Antonio Conte scored for Juve with a header, re-establishing the two-goal lead.
In the 73rd minute, Gianluca Zambrotta added another for Juventus and made it 2-1 on the night, and 4-1 on aggregate. Despite Shabani Nonda scoring for Rennes late on, the 2-2 draw was enough to see Juventus crowned as one of the three winners of the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup, along with West Ham United and Montpellier.
