First-half goals from Weston McKennie and Douglas Luiz secure all three points for the Bianconeri on Serie A Matchday 8.

THE MATCH REPORT

Juventus were in complete control for the opening half-hour, dominating possession and patiently building their attacks against a compact and well-organised Lecce side. As is often the case in matches like these, it took a moment of quality to break the deadlock, and that moment arrived in the 29th minute. Douglas Luiz delivered a dangerous free-kick from the edge of the box, curling the ball over the wall and into the penalty area, where Weston McKennie timed his run perfectly to meet it with a right-footed half-volley and fire past the Lecce goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Having taken the lead, the Bianconeri stepped up the tempo and continued to push forward. In the 34th minute, Kalulu delivered an inviting cross from the right towards the far post, where Cambiaso arrived at just the right moment and attempted to play the ball back across goal for his teammates, but Falcone came off his line to claim it.

The pressure continued and, with four minutes remaining in the first half, Douglas Luiz added a goal to his earlier assist, striking first time from the edge of the box and finding the net via the inside of the post to double Juventus' advantage. The Bianconeri headed into the break with a 2-0 lead.

The tempo dropped in the second half, with Juventus managing their advantage effectively and limiting the hosts' opportunities. The Bianconeri started the half on the front foot, with Cambiaso trying his luck from distance in the 47th minute after a Douglas Luiz free-kick, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between as the match progressed, although Vicario was called into action on the half-hour mark, making a fine save to deny Estebann's effort towards the near post.

With five minutes remaining, Boga had an opportunity to add a third, but his curling right-footed effort flew over the bar. Three minutes later, Cabal made a well-timed run into the penalty area before unleashing a powerful left-footed strike that also went over.

That proved to be the final chance of the match, as Juventus secured a 2-0 victory away at Lecce.
