22 April 2025
Today, Earth Day, Juventus is proud to announce “Road to Allianz Stadium,” a pilot project that aims to promote more environmentally sustainable mobility around the Club's home matches and will be made possible through a collaboration with GTT - Turin's public transport operator - and the support of Allianz.
On the occasion of the Juventus-Monza fixture on 27 April, fans will be offered a free daily local public transport ticket, valid exclusively for the day of the match and usable in unlimited mode on GTT's urban and suburban network, including the metro. At this experimental stage, the initiative - designed as a concrete alternative to the use of private cars - will be reserved for fans under 30 in possession of a ticket for the match. The aim is to gather useful feedback from participants with a view to a possible extension of the project, in the next season, to other age groups as well.
The free daily pass will be possible thanks to the support of Allianz, but that's not everything.
GTT will enhance, in fact, the lines connecting the center of Turin with Allianz Stadium, favoring the use of electric buses, in line with the green purpose of the initiative.
How does it work?
The process will be very simple. Fans simply need to enter the following on the appropriate section of the GTT website :
- Unique code (which will be sent to him by the club starting in the next 48 hours, together with the relative link to the dedicated section of the GTT website)
- First and last name
- E-mail address
The supporter will then receive the free public transportation ticket in the form of a PDF with QR code that can be validated on the chosen means of transport.
Why this project?
Fan mobility represents one of the most complex environmental challenges for a club. According to a study by the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, fan travel accounts for between 50% and 70% of a sports club's total emissions.
This impact is generated by the heavy use of the private car, but also by other means such as airplanes, especially with a large and distributed fanbase, such as Juventus'.
Juventus has chosen to undertake this challenge starting in the city setting, with the aim of expanding its reach in the coming seasons.
“Road to Allianz Stadium” fits within the club's ESG strategy “Black, White and More,” and in particular within the “Emissions in the Corner” pillar dedicated to reducing emissions. As of this season, Juventus is in fact calculating Scope 3 emissions, that is, indirect emissions that include, among other things, fan travel. This is a significant extension to the areas already monitored by the Club: in fact, Juventus has been measuring direct emissions (Scope 1) and those from energy consumption (Scope 2) since 2018.
The game for the environment has already begun: play it with us!
