The Men's First Team are back in European action as they travel to Spain to face Celta Vigo on Matchday 2 of the 2026/27 UEFA Europa League League Phase.
The Bianconeri head into the fixture following an emphatic 5-0 victory over NEC Nijmegen in their opening match of the competition.
Here's all you need to know ahead of the European encounter.
- HEAD-TO-HEAD | Celta Vigo and Juventus previously met in the Round of 16 of the 1999/2000 UEFA Cup. After losing the first leg 1-0 away from home, Celta Vigo claimed a 4-0 victory in the return leg to progress to the next round.
- SPANISH OPPOSITION | Juventus are winless in their last six matches against Spanish teams in major European competitions (D3, L3), with their last victory coming in December 2020, when they defeated Barcelona 3-0 at the Camp Nou.
- CELTA'S FORM | Celta Vigo have lost their last three UEFA Europa League matches, their longest-ever losing streak in major European competitions.
- HOME ADVANTAGE | After losing their first-ever home match in major European competitions 2-0 against Aberdeen in the UEFA Cup on 15 September 1971, Celta Vigo have remained unbeaten in their subsequent nine opening home matches of a European campaign (W7, D2), winning each of their last three such fixtures.
- CLEAN SHEET TARGET | Following their 5-0 victory over NEC on Matchday 1, Juventus could win their first two UEFA Cup/Europa League matches of a campaign without conceding for the first time since 2013/14, when they defeated Trabzonspor 2-0 in both legs of their Round of 32 tie.
- CLINICAL FINISHING | Juventus scored five goals from just 11 shots against NEC on Matchday 1, recording the highest shot conversion rate in the opening round of the competition (45.5%). The Bianconeri have also kept a clean sheet in each of their last four group stage/league phase matches across the UEFA Europa League and Champions League.
- PASSING ACCURACY | Only AC Milan (nine) recorded more open-play sequences of at least 10 passes ending with a shot or a touch inside the opposition penalty area than Celta Vigo (six) on Matchday 1 of this season's Europa League. The Spanish side also boast the highest passing accuracy in the competition so far (92%).
- MARCOS ALONSO | No player completed more passes starting outside the final third and ending inside it than Marcos Alonso on Matchday 1 of the 2026/27 Europa League (17, level with Hapoel Be'er Sheva's Matan Baltaxa). During his time at Fiorentina between 2013 and 2016, Alonso faced Juventus five times in Serie A without recording a victory. The Bianconeri are the team he has faced most often without winning across Europe's top five leagues.
- YOUNG TALENT | At 18 years and 361 days old, Kerim Alajbegović became only the second 18-year-old to score for Juventus in a major European competition when he found the net against NEC, after Gianfranco Zigoni (18 years and 311 days against OFK Belgrade in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup on 2 October 1963). Should Alajbegović score against Celta Vigo, aged 19 years and 24 days, he would become the youngest Juventus player to score more than once in these competitions, surpassing Pietro Fanna, who scored his second European goal against Glentoran in the UEFA Cup on 2 November 1977, aged 19 years and 132 days.
- KOLO MUANI'S IMPACT | Randal Kolo Muani has been involved in eight goals in his last eight appearances in major European competitions (5 goals, 3 assists), having scored and provided an assist after coming off the bench in Juventus' opening match against NEC.
