After the Women’s First Team beat Inter 1-0 in Biella to book their place in the Serie A Women’s Cup final coach Isaac Guerrero and Cecilia Salvai spoke.

Below is the pick of what they had to say.

CECILIA SALVAI

“We really wanted this, it’s part of our DNA. We always say it: Juve’s DNA is to win everything we can. We older players try to pass that on to the new ones, and I have to say they’ve already taken it on board very well.

“We really wanted to reach this final for Ana Capeta too. She’s always with us and we’ll try to win a trophy for her. Winning breeds winning. Bringing enthusiasm, confidence and connection between us is fundamental.

“Every final is another match to play and an opportunity for everyone, perhaps even for someone who can win the first trophy of their career. I can’t wait to get out there.

“Inter have one of the best attacks in the league, so we were very wary of their threat. That’s why we raised our level of concentration against each of them. They’re strong and showed that at different moments in the match, but we also know how to soak it up and suffer.

“We like to play and keep the ball, but when we have to suffer, we stay compact. Today the whole team showed great solidity, not just the defence.”

ISAAC GUERRERO

“The first objective was to become a team and these girls were excellent from the very beginning in creating that.

“Then the second big objective came very early, which was qualifying for the Women’s Champions League. They put all their energy into reaching the League Phase, and they did it.

“Today they put themselves to the test again and played a first half of a very high level. We were up against a very strong team, but they fought to achieve this third objective too and reach the final. They really deserve my congratulations.”
