After the Men's First Team's 1-1 draw with Milan on Serie A Matchday 3, coach Luciano Spalletti and Manuel Locatelli spoke.
LUCIANO SPALLETTI
“We took the initiative in the game. We were constantly pressing, trying to raise the tempo of the match. We wanted to take control of the game, and our intentions were right. Obviously, we need to improve the decisions we make.
“In these kinds of matches, you can’t ask for permission. You don’t wait to be invited - you have to go there and take what you deserve. That’s what we need to do if we want to keep raising our level.”
MANUEL LOCATELLI
“We played well and had the opportunity to win. I think today’s reaction was very important. I’m happy because the players who came off the bench did very well, and it’s very important for the whole group that the players coming on are able to make a contribution.
“Above all, this team has to do better than last year. We need to be more ruthless in the penalty area because, even today, we had a lot of chances that we didn’t take.”
