The Women’s First Team secured an important three points in Serie A by beating Fiorentina 2-1 at Viola Park on Monday night.
Coach Isaac Guerrero and X spoke to the press after the Matchday 5 clash.
ISAAC GUERRERO
“We’d just come back from the Champions League match in Vienna, with only a few days to recover, and it wasn’t easy to face two such demanding fixtures in such a short space of time. Today, something was missing from our game, particularly in terms of ball control, our ability to draw the opposition out of position and to maintain continuity in our build-up play.
"In defence, however, we were on a par with our performance in Vienna. We knew we were up against a strong Fiorentina side, a team that knows how to play, and that’s why it was important to end our run of poor results in the league, build on our Champions League victory and regain our confidence. What I liked most was the girls’ selflessness. When you can’t play your usual football, you have to stick together, help your teammates, close the gaps and make that extra run.
"Today, the team showed they can do just that, and that makes me very happy. Now we’ll have a few more days to recover and train, with the aim of returning to being a dominant side, capable of imposing our own style of play. I’m also very pleased about our captain Martina Rosucci’s 200th appearance. She’s a hugely important figure in this dressing room and it’s wonderful to be able to celebrate such a significant milestone with her whilst wearing the Juventus shirt.”

MARTINA ROSUCCI
“These 200 appearances span ten years, two cruciate ligament injuries and, above all, so many people who have become part of my life and who will remain part of it forever. There’s Juventus, which for me remains a dream, and there’s the love for what I do every day. This match meant a great deal to me, because after three defeats it was important to get back to winning ways, no matter how. We had a good first half; in the second we struggled, but we managed to pull it off – something we hadn’t managed in recent matches.
"This also means growing in terms of our mentality. I’m happy, in my 100th appearance I won a Super Cup, and in my 200th I beat Fiorentina. If I think of a special moment on this journey, I’d choose my first Scudetto. We were completely oblivious to everything; some friends were there with me and it was a pure moment, filled with love, happiness and fun. Then many other great things followed, but that remains a special memory. I dedicate these 200 appearances to my grandmother Tiziana, who passed away a few days ago. I would have liked to have scored a goal for her too.”
