Juventus considers the promotion of a sports culture based on respect, protection and responsible growth to be of primary importance. This is why, in collaboration with ChangeTheGame, the first Italian association committed to the fight against all forms of violence and abuse in the world of sport, the club has launched a training programme dedicated to the coaches and staff of the men's and women's youth sector.
The first meeting, held on Thursday 20 February at the Vinovo Training Centre, involved the staff and coaches of the women's youth sector, offering concrete tools to prevent and fight all forms of abuse or discrimination in the sports environment. During the session, Daniela Simonetti, founder of ChangeTheGame, presented the data of the research conducted by ChangeTheGame and Nielsen, the first in Italy to investigate the impact of violence in sport: a fundamental step to understand the extent of the phenomenon and to build effective protection tools.
The meeting stimulated a collective reflection on the need for a concrete commitment to make football - and sport in general - a safe, inclusive and discrimination-free environment.
Second meeting with the men's youth sector
The training course continued today, Thursday, 8 May, with a second meeting involving the staff and coaches of the men's youth sector. The goal is always the same: to provide useful tools to prevent and counteract any form of abuse and create a safer sports environment for young athletes.
Both meetings were also attended by Riccardo Tinozzi, from the Juventus Psychological Area, who also discussed the Juventus Safeguarding Policy, with particular regard to roles, responsibilities and the reporting process.
