A world title, with the captain’s armband: Cristina Librán is an Under-20 World Champion with Spain!
The Bianconere midfielder, captain of the Spanish national team, lifted the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after the tournament held in Poland. In the final in Łódź, Spain overcame North Korea on penalties to return to the top of the world in the age category, four years after their 2022 triumph.
It was a tournament to remember for Librán, who led her national team all the way to the title. The 2006-born midfielder had already captained Spain at Under-19 level, winning the European Championship in 2025 and also scoring in the final victory over France.
The World Cup in Poland also brought another individual achievement: in the quarter-final against Brazil, Cristina was named Player of the Match, helping Spain book their place in the semi-final, where they went on to beat Italy 2-0.
Having joined Juventus from Madrid CFF in the summer of 2025, Librán has now added another prestigious trophy to her young international career.
