Sofia Cantore is more than just the many goals she is scoring for Juventus Women this season, but she is also inventive, a person who sacrifices herself, and makes herself fully available. Those traits will now continue to serve the Bianconere after she signed a contract to stay with the Club until 30 June, 2028.
“This relationship is one that began seven years ago and this renewal is an exciting one. It shows the great trust in me from the Club, again, and I’m happy to take this step. Juventus is home for me now, even when I was on loan I always felt as though I was part of this family. It waited for me, and it’s given me so much, and I know it will in the future too.”
Sofia is enjoying an incredible season so far, she’s already enjoying her best goalscoring season, and she marked her 100th appearance with Juventus against Inter.
“I’m happy with how the season is going both for the team and on a personal level. As a group, we follow the values of Juventus and try to win every game we play. Personally, I don’t focus much on specific objectives, but I’m happy with my contribution this season when I look at the numbers. I want to keep this up.”
Despite being just 25, Sofia has become a point of reference for her teammates and has been part of the Juventus Women First Team squad since she was 17.
“It’s normal that as time goes by you become more of a reference points for others based on how you behave. I don’t see myself as a role model just yet, I still have to grow and there are a lot of players in this team who are examples to follow. I try to show the right attitude on the pitch with my way of playing, maybe by making that extra run that can be an example.”
She’s been with Juventus for a long time already, and has made countless memories, but one in particular stands out.
“When I look back, the best thing I experienced with Juventus was the first Scudetto, in our first season. I remember the fantastic group we had, and that first league title was an emotion I’ll never forget.”
