The Juventus Women’s First Team return from Cesena as Women’s Italian Cup quarter-finalists, beating the Serie B side 7-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Michela Cambiaghi and Paulina Krumbiegel each scored twice, with Cristina Libran, Amalie Vangsgaard, and Martina Rosucci also getting on the scoresheet.
THE MATCH REPORT
Seven minutes was enough time for the Bianconere to get themselves in front. With Estelle Cascarino fouled in the box, Cambiaghi stepped up and dispatched from the penalty spot.
Libran got the second just five minutes later to celebrate her first as a Bianconera, getting the decisive touch on a cross from the right.
Cesena proved to be a threat in attack themselves though, with Juventus academy graduate Marta Zamboni halving the deficit with a quarter of an hour on the clock. But the Bianconere reacted well and Krumbiegel struck from range before turning provider for Cambiaghi’s second and the side’s fourth of the afternoon before half time.
The start to the second half was similarly fast, and Krumbiegel added a fifth as she swept home after Lindsey Thomas had gone close.
Rosucci made it six in the 75th minute to mark her first goal of the season after combining well with Chiara Beccari, and Vangsgaard completed the scoring in the 87th minute and not long after coming off the bench.
And so the Bianconere march on into the quarter-finals, keeping their chances of defending the title they conquered in Como back in May alive.
