The first time you step inside your own home is a moment you can never forget. There’s a unique feeling in the air, that scent of something new combined almost immediately with the sense that, at last, you’re exactly where you belong.
Today, our home turns 15. Fifteen years in which every single seat has held a hope, every stand has echoed with our boundless passion, and every roar has driven the team on to overcome obstacles.
The story of this special place first came to life on 8 September, 2011, when the opening ceremony and celebratory match against Notts County officially opened the doors of our home to the world. Luca Toni was the first to score and to make the net ripple.
Just three days later, on 11 September, 2011, that pitch hosted its first official match. It was Matchday 2 of the Serie A season, with Parma the visitors. It was an afternoon that has remained etched in everyone’s memory: a 4-1 victory, with the scoring opened by Stephan Lichtsteiner, followed by goals from Simone Pepe, Arturo Vidal, and Claudio Marchisio. A perfect celebration, with the added romantic touch of the opposition’s goal being scored by Sebastian Giovinco, who had come through the youth ranks in Bianconero.
That 11 September marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey, filled with unforgettable nights, trophies raised to the sky and record-breaking runs, including 57 consecutive Serie A home matches without defeat between 2015 and 2017.
But the value of our home can’t be measured in mere wins or statistics. Our home is where generations of supporters come together. It’s where strangers embrace after a last-second goal, where we suffer side by side, and where, with every match, we’re reminded that we all belong to one great family.
We’re celebrating 15 years of history lived together. Fifteen years of joy, always in the place where we truly feel at home. And the best part is that the story continues.
