07 September 2026
Fifteen years ago, a new era began. Just a few days after the inauguration of Juventus Stadium, the Bianconeri’s new home was preparing to experience the emotion of a competitive match for the first time. It was 11 September 2011, a date destined to become part of the Club’s history.
The first time you step inside your own home is impossible to forget. The Stadium had been inaugurated on 8 September 2011 and, just a few days later, on 11 September, it opened its doors for its first competitive match.
It was the second round of the 2011/12 Serie A season, although the first match actually played after the opening round had been postponed: Juventus-Parma.
The result, like every moment of that day, remains etched in the memory: a 4-1 victory, with goals from Stephan Lichtsteiner, Simone Pepe, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio. Even the opposition’s goal, on a day like that, could only have come from someone who had grown up with Juventus in his blood: Sebastian Giovinco.
Relive that special day through images and video.
