It was a hot evening at the Arena Civica in Milan for the semi-final of The Women's Cup, where the Juventus Women’s First Team beat Como Women 2-0. The Bianconere have now qualified for the final, which will be played on Sunday, 17 August at 20:00 CEST.

THE STORY OF THE MATCH

The first two big chances fell the way of Como, whilst Juventus’ first opportunity came courtesy of Beccari in the 11th minute. The temperature in Milan certainly contributed to the slow pace of the game, and it took until the 38th minute for Canzi’s side to score. After Stolen Godo almost scored with a header, Beccari managed to set up Krumbiegel, who made it 1-0. The half ended with an excellent De Jong save to maintain the lead.

The second half began with a superb chance for the Bianconere: Beccari's shot from the edge of the area flashed just wide, but in the 53rd minute, Juventus doubled their lead with Vangsgaard's header. The third goal almost came for Juventus in the 64th minute, when Stolen Godo hit the post with a shot from close range, and coach Canzi reacted with a set of substitutions to give minutes to several players from the bench. The match came to a slow end, and Juventus will now face either Inter or Atletico Madrid in the final.

CANZI'S COMMENTS

"We have to improve our physical condition, although today it was very hot and it was difficult to do much more. I'm happy with the girls' defensive performance: we conceded very few chances and I'm happy with how they performed. We are working hard in that aspect to make progress compared to last season. We know that we must try to concede fewer goals. Libran is a player with great technical quality, she's very young and she can definitely improve in terms of physical strength. She raises the level in training and we want to see what she can give us in the coming months. We have a very good squad and we know that we can still improve with other additions. We can’t rush things. We have several players who can bring us goals, and we want as many players in the team as possible to be capable of scoring goals.”

BECCARI'S COMMENTS

"I'm doing fine, I feel better and I'm getting back into shape. For me, the No.9 jersey is important on a personal level. Wearing the Juventus jersey has more weight than any other, but I try not to think about it. I want to help the team as much as possible, starting of course with goals and assists. I want to try to get into double figures and in general support my teammates. Certainly, in Europe we have to try to do the best we can, while succeeding again in Italy is always a major goal, despite the fact that many of our opponents are of a high level. Rosucci, besides being our captain, is a special person. She has been close to me, she has time for everyone, from the youngest players to the veterans.”
